Apple is looking into Some iPhone 8 owners report swollen batteries
Apple seems to have an iPhone 8 battery problem, and it is not clear yet whether it is coming about in just a handful of edge cases or in a larger lot of phones.Reports from some iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus customers have indicated there could be an issue with the battery inside some of the devices swelling, causing the case of Apple’s new iPhone to break open and break the smartphone’s internals.
Apple on Friday admitted the current iPhone 8 may be having problems with its battery.
“We are aware and looking into it,” an Apple spokesperson told a news organization.
As the past few weeks, about six pics and videos of swollen iPhone 8 and 8 Plus phones – or so of which were split in the rear, exposing internal parts – have been shared widely on social media.
“Somebody in Japan then posted photos of a split-apart phone on Twitter. there’ve been cases in China, Canada, and Greece,” The Verge reported on Saturday.
CNET also found at least six different reports in five countries of the iPhone 8 splitting along.
Reuters also noticed a report in Chinese state media of an iPhone buyer claiming a new purchased iPhone 8 Plus arrived cracked on October 5, although evidently with no signs of scorching or an explosion.
